Nice slow night tonight. I do have some member issues to address however. The Bush’s had a graduation dinner tonight that was supposed to start at 5. The table was set and ready for them by 5, but they wanted to do cocktail hour out in the patio. No problem at all, they were going to the bar to get their drinks and going to stand in the middle of the patio. Mr. Bush grabs Tori as shes leaving a table, and demands she get him a bowl of soup right now because he was hungry. The bowl of soup proceeded to sit on an unaccompanied table next to them for the next 30 minutes. They finally sit down around 6:30, and Shawn greets them immediately. As soon as he walked in the room, Mr. Bush again started pointing at his different guests and demanding drinks for them. Shawn obliges and goes to the server station to ring in the drinks. Mr. Bush comes into the server station, as Shawn is ringing in the drinks, to tell him that another guest needs a glass of wine. He is not sure what the name if this glass of wine is, but that is sounds like something with “pick” in it. Shawn suggests that is may be Picpoul because that is the only wine by the glass that sounded similar. Mr. Bush was apparently not satisfied with that answer and snaps at Kiara and tells her to come with him right now. Kiara goes into Founder’s and what do you know the glass of wine she wanted WAS Picpoul. Their meals were fine past that point until after Shawn prebussed. I helped Shawn take the entree plates to the kitchen. We weren’t in the kitchen for longer than 5 minutes when one by one different bartenders and servers come to us saying that Mr. Bush is “losing his mind” and “tweaking” (lol). Mr. Bush walked out of Founder’s room and was snapping at anyone he could see and yelling at them that he needed dessert. That is all of the Founder’s room issues of the night. Les Perry and his wife and the Wards came in at 8:55 wanting dinner. Wonderful, they were taken care of in a timely manner. However, this is the second time in 3 days that they have come in right at closing. Robert and Michelle Wright came in around 8:15, and told the bar they were interested in sitting on the patio to eat dinner. They asked when the kitchen closed and Taylor told them 9. They said great and that they'd wait until then to order. They never came back in to get a table. They sat in the courtyard, so Taylor went to double check if they wanted food or not. They wound up getting appetizers. I told the bartenders to give the Wrights and Mr. Shelton last call at 9:45. The Perrys and Wards were already closed out, so they didn’t need to be made aware. Mrs. Wright came in for a glass of wine at 9:40. Taylor and I had an interesting interaction with her that I can discuss with Rick. Because she came in before last call, I told Kevin when he does last call to direct it at Mr. Wright and Mr. Shelton. When Kevin asked if either of them needed a fresh drink and informed them it was last call, Mrs. Wright started yelling at Kevin saying that we don’t give last call here, we don’t do that around here, and as long as they are there we need to be open. They were the only 3 people in the building, that were not closed out. At 10, the Perrys and Wards got up to leave, so Kevin walked out to start bussing their table. While he was doing that, the Wrights and Mr. Shelton got up and ,as they were walking past Kevin, Mrs. Wright says “Fuck them. I’m just going to take this glass with me!” No one told them they couldn’t finish their drinks, and no one told them they needed to leave. Those are all of the issues on the night. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Solid busy night at bon air. With a total of 82 covers, we had our normal regulars like the whites and lists and many more!! The wings were surprisingly a really popular dish today along with the Smashburgers! Alice has been doing a great job training and we had great compliments on food and service overall. No problems or issues to report!

solid night at bon air with a total of 73 covers. We had some familiar faces come in like the mcdaniels, badgers, and knapics. We ran into the same issue again with members not sitting where they sat originally which kind of threw us off our game for a little bit, but we were able to persevere and finish the night successfully. It’s just frustrating. Our soda machine in the server station stopped working, so I let Cory know so he can contact Coke about that. I had to take two Smashburgers off of Lambaret because they burgers weren’t “smashed” enough to his liking. He told me this after the fact he ate both of them and was upset about it so I just went ahead and took it off his bill. Other than that, no problems or issues to report!!

Brown Wedding

Banquet
Jack Montgomery Ball Room

Very seamless night tonight. Luckily we put ourselves in a really good position last night with setup, so once today rolled around we didn't have much to do except some housekeeping items. The wedding party was, of course, late but it didn't put us back much. All of our key items on the timeline were executed without hiccups! We were definitely proven wrong about our doubts with the passed mint juleps and putting the derby on the Lounge TV; a lot of guests did take part. In fact, once it was on and the cigar roller was here guests spent the majority of their time outside and in the Lounge. This made the ballroom look borderline empty for quite some time. We had a few guests try to help themselves even though Akaria was at the bar but that was squashed right away. All in all a very easy night.

Very slow morning/afternoon at Titleholders with a total of 38 covers. There was only 2/3 tables during breakfast and then our main priority was the birthday lunch for Catherine Boyd's daughter in Founders. Kiara was their server and the girls mostly got chicken wraps and junior burgers, and they loved everything and had no complaints. Other than that, nothing eventful happened. No issues to report!

Carlson Rehearsal/Welcome Party

Banquet
Jack Montgomery

This event took place in the Lounge/Veranda/Loggia. Dinner service went extremely well and on time! Tiffany and the rest of the staff did a great job staying present and on the floor...and clearing and serving swiftly to get through their timeline. Janae, Akaria and Dallah stayed on top of wine service all throughout and passing champagne for the toasts. We did have a group of about 4 come in when we were almost through serving but we were able to get them food asap. Later, however, we had another group of a couple people that missed dinner and the father of the groom wanted meals for them. At this point it was well past 8 and the welcome party had started. Marquitta spoke to the member-sponsor and they did not want to buy them food from downstairs, so they were advised to partake in the slew of apps that were available instead. Other than that, everything went very well! Proud of all of the staff for tonight's execution

Pretty solid night at Bon Air! With 63 covers, things were a lot more tamed and structured this evening. I’m not sure if it’s because there were certain members who were no present or if they children were more tamed, but I’m not complaining! The Goldbergs did leave a giant mess at their table with pasta, goldfish, and legos all over the place. Other than that, everything went good and all members were happy and full! Pizzas sold well tonight as well as the weekly bowl. No problems or issues to report!

A busy night for a Wednesday at Bon Air, with a total of 72 covers. While the team managed the pace well at the start of service, ongoing issues with members movement between tables and inconsistent ordering practices led to significant service challenges as the night progressed. The primary issue came from members, both adults and children, moving between tables without informing the host stand or their server. Parties that were originally assigned to separate tables combined or relocated, while new guests were seated at the original tables. This created a disconnect between our seating system and the actual layout of members in the summerhouse and patio, making it difficult for our servers and food runners to accurately identify where orders belonged. As members continued to circulate, staff were often delivering food to tables where no one from that party was present, which disrupted service flow and created confusion. This problem was further compounded when members ordered outside of their assigned server. In one notable situation at Table 24, an original family was seated, but the parents later moved to join another group while several children remained and were joined by others. These children placed dessert orders individually at the counter at different times and requested that the items be delivered to Table 24. Because these orders were not placed through a single server and the table remained under the original family’s name, there was no reliable way to track which items belonged to which members / their children. Desserts were prepared and delivered to Table 24 as requested; however, when the items arrived, several of the children who had ordered them were not present. As a result, desserts were taken by others at the table. Shortly after, multiple children approached the counter stating that they had not received their orders, despite those items already being delivered. This led to further confusion and ultimately resulted in frustration from parents who believed their children had been overlooked, even my staff had fulfilled the orders as instructed. situations like this, give us a bad look, when the sole reasoning is the members and their lack of decency to sit down at a table they chose. I understand getting up and mingling with your friends, especially with the kids, and I understand we are a very chill and laid-back service restaurant, but it made everything become a shit show when it didn’t need to be. (Excuse my language)

Whopping 33 people showed for the Brannen Cup Pairings this evening out of 150. Big drop from last year, which was around 75. Next time we should just pass food instead of putting out stations and wasting the resources. No issues though, Janae held down the bar for the quick meeting and staff did a great job of staying on the floor.

Pretty slow lunch down at Titleholders today. With a total of 45 covers, it was pretty slow post jambo as well as the muggy weather this afternoon. The sun came out and got a little warmer, so there was mainly people sitting on the patio. The Antipasto Chicken Sandwich was pretty popular today along with the salad bar. Big thanks to Robby for serving today. No issues or problems to report.

Pretty slow for a Sunday! Even with the overcast start to the day, the patio was pretty popular. We did have a big misstep today. The Revells and their children came in for lunch. All 3 children ordered grilled cheeses, but the two older children have Celiacs, so they asked for their grilled cheeses to be on gluten free bread. The seat numbers were correct, and the ticket said which seats got the gluten free bread. The food runner gave the youngest boy the gluten free grilled cheese and the middle daughter the regular one. The girl ate half the sandwich before Shawn saw that the grilled cheese she had was on regular bread. He immediately had the grilled cheeses remade, but the Revells were, rightfully so, upset. I comped their whole check, and we attempted to offer desert, but they were ready to go. I had a talk with the food runners and told them to always double and triple check what they are putting down ESPECIALLY when there is an allergy. No other issues to report.

Slow Tuesday with a full staff . A lot of patio action today. Mrs. Beman and Mrs. Day had lunch on the terrace . Bunny was the usual 5top. Mr McDaniel and his guest were a two top day at the bar . Presidents room and founders room were à la carte and TH took care of them . There was some time gaps and food pulled sporadically for each event even though both parties were rung in at separate times . Pres room was fired first, half the meals went up first and the burger took much longer because it was started much later than the other entrees for that party . Overall a good day minus the few hiccups

Brunch in Titleholders had it ups and downs today. With a total of 156 covers, we weren't the busiest we have ever been, but had numerous walk ins that were extremely difficult to accommodate for. With our reservations, we naturally preassigned the tables and set them for each party's number. We had walk ins of 5, 6, even 9 people where we could have only accommodate them when we completely rearranged the restaurant for them. When we did have to tell them that they had to wait for a table to pop up because we entire restaurant was full of reservations, walk ins were visibly upset. An idea to solve this problem would be to be reservation only during Sunday Brunch, so then FOH and BOH can prepare for the cover number. We could also put servers into sections, so servers aren't triple sat at a time are prepared for the amount of people coming in. Kind of like what we did during Masters Week. This brunch was one of those days where everyone came in all at once and we had to go on a 30 min hold for food so the kitchen could catch up. There was a few hiccups during service such as the Thurman's table were missing a few items and had a wrong order. Everyone was mostly gone by 2:30. Other than that, no other issues or problems to report.
